In times of disaster, such as the Victorian bushfires or the Mumbai attacks, there are several useful things you can do.
- You can lead by example and pass on useful information, like dedicated twitter feeds or advice.
- Or you can endlessly be part of the rabble, call for the perpretrators’ testicles, or mindlessly retweet everything you see.
If you have nothing useful to add then kindly refrain, plsthx.

Since when were tweets ever supposed to be useful?
We’re not all journalists (not that all of them have been doing such a great job of being useful).

I’m by no means saying everyone needs to be tweeting only ‘journalistic’ things. But how does it add any value to your day to have to wade through six hundred identical retweets?

Eh. I think that’s just the nature of Twitter, for better or worse. It’s just a giant water cooler.
